Torque values shown applicable to "black" or "plated" bolts and nuts used with integral flanges.  For fluoropolymer coated bolts and nuts click here.

Flanges with "R" ring grooves can connect and seal with either R or RX ring gaskets. RX gaskets increase the stand-off between flanges, and studs shown in the illustration above have sufficient length to accommodate RX gaskets in these connections. In some cases equipment design may restrict clearance and shorter studs will increase convenience. CAUTION: The difference in stand-off between R and RX gaskets can cause alignment problems on close coupled manifolding or pressure controlling loops. Assembly designers specify component dimensions which allow for the difference in stand-off between flanges when choosing either R or RX gaskets. When operators perform maintenance that involves disassembly, trouble free reassembly requires using gaskets the same as the gaskets originally chosen.

 2-1/16" 5M FLANGE

CAUTION: 2-1/16" 3M and 2-1/16" 5M flanges have identical dimensions. API requires loose connectors of this size to have 5000 PSI marking. Use care not to identify API 3000 PSI working pressure equipment with this integral flange as 5000 PSI working pressure.

CAUTION: This API flange mates with both 2" 900 and 2" 1500 CLASS RTJ ANSI B16.5 flanges. Connection to 2" 900 CLASS equipment has a working pressure of 2160 PSI. Connection to 2" 1500 CLASS equipment has a working pressure of 3600 PSI.

CAUTION: Past API specifications permitted, as an option, 2-1/16" 3M flanges to have R-23 ring grooves as specified for 2-1/16" 2M flanges. Flanges with R-23 ring grooves will not mate with flanges with R-24 ring grooves without the use of a special Combination Adapter Ring Gasket.
