WOODCO USA presents this catalog to provide useful information about the WOODCO USA 150 ton manual casing and tubing Spider. It describes the application, designates the applicable specification and reference standard, indicates the material specification, and provides a quality statement.

The  Illustration,  Figure 1, provides  an assembly drawing. Figure 2, presents specific replacement parts. Included photographs show the Spider Closed and Open.

1.1 Purpose

WOODCO USA intends this catalog to communicate the design, material, and quality advantages of the WOODCO USA 150 Ton Manual Spider.

Intended for use at the rig site to handle casing, tubing and/or drill pipe utilizing API Spec 7K standard rotary slips. The rigid design maintains uniform slip engagement pressure from top to bottom minimizing tendencies to pinch or locally crush suspended pipe.

 1.3 Specification

The WOODCO USA 150 Ton Spider meets or exceeds requirements stipulated in API Spec 7K for drilling equipment. The Tapered bowl section of the Spider conforms to the dimensions specified in API Spec 7K for square drive rotary table master bushings.

WOODCO USA manufactures 150 ton Spiders from materials which meet or exceed the requirements of API Spec 7K. All material meets or exceeds the impact testing requirements.
